How Do I Retrieve NIN Using USSD Code on my mobile Phone?

NIMC’s USSD services is an enabling mobile dialing code from phone which, provides for easy retrieval of the National Identification personalized code of individuals cards. This Service was introduced by the NIMC for easy access in case of emergence requisition. This would be possible by just typing a specific USSD Code on your mobile phone. Be informed that generation of NIN personal code can be made from any phone no matter how small or big. It's neither limited to smartphone nor it restricted to Internet enabling devices, but can be possible in any mobile phone.

Why May I Need To Retrieve My NIN Code Using Mobile Phone?

★ Inability to collect the NIN slip during enrollment exercise
★ Don’t remember where you kept your NIN slip
★ Request for re-issuance of NIN Slip
★ Forgotten your NIN code
★ In case of emergence

How Would I Retrieve My NIN Code?
There are two simple methods I will like to teach you here today. The first option would explain in step by step if you are to use the same number that you used during registration process, while the second option would treat how to go about it in case of willing to retrieve it using another Phone number. But all the same, you should understand it that whatever method you use to retrieve your NIN code, it would attract a charges of N20 (Twenty Naira) only from your mobile number.

FIRST OPTION
STEP 1: Dial the USSD code *346# on your mobile Phone. As display in the diagram below:

Remember that you will need to retreive your NIN code using the same phone number here, which you used during National Identification enrolment exercise, else, (you may follow the second option in case you wishes to retrieve it from another phone number).

STEP 2: Type "1" (to select "NIN Retrieval")

STEP 3: Press "Send" button on you screen. After this, a dialogue box would appeared (as view on the below diagram) showing your NIN personal code as display in the below image button


It's as simple as that my friend. Don't forget that only what you have to be charged is N20 only

SECOND OPTION

STEP 1: Dial the USSD code *346# (as above learnt)

STEP 2: Type "2" (for NIN Search). This would enables you a chance to search by typing your name and the Date of Birth to find your NIN Code in the NIMC's database.

Here, type either the Last Name or the Surname (it's optional)
NOTE: The same dialogue box may come up again, don't worry, just type again either your Surname or the Last Name again. You should only make sure that the any chosen name(s) is correspondent to the one you used during enrollment.

STEP 3: After a successful name typing, a dialogue box where you will type your date of birth would then appeared. Here, you should follow the format as written below DD-MM-YYYY (i.e Day-Month-Year).

I can proudly tell you that this very method would enables those who were not using the same phone number that they used during enrollment, this method is very effective in retrieving your NIN Code when it's what is matter.

And, don't forget that using of this service attracts a charges of N20 (Twenty naira) only (to be deducted from your phone credit balance).
