What is NIN?
NIN as an abbrev. for the National Indentification Number. It is a unique recognized code issued to individual citizens and legal residence of Nigeria by the National Identification Management Commision (NIMC) after a successful enrolment which identifies them for life and would be recon with all over the world.

Step 1 - The Applicant (a citizen) should walks in to any Enrolment Centre (either office or mobile) and gets an Enrolment Form.
Step 2 - Applicant must fills the Enrolment Form, providing the required demographic information and physical looks.
Step 3 - The Applicant should now inform the Enrolment Officer of the completion of the form filling process, whom would now collects the form and inputs those details into the computer system for further process.
Step 4 - The Applicant in his/her presence would now look, verifies and confirms the enrolment data on the computer screen placed in front of him/her and request adjustments correct where requires.
Step 5 - Applicant will have his/her headshot (photograph), fingerprints and signature captured. With his/her supporting documents scanned immediately.
Step 6 - Applicant’s enrolment would now be acknowledged, while receiving 2 printed slips been generated for him/her by the enrollment officer:
Expected Documents To Be Collected In The Enrolment Centre:
(a) The Transaction Slip - This document indicates successful completion of the form felling, it would be given immediately after registration process.
(b) The NIN Slip - This document signifies the acknowledgement for the approval, and would contains a unique identification code tagged on that individual member of the country.
Note: (this second slip may not be given immediately, it may depends on how fast the confirmation of the application is being processed from the headquarter. A message may be sent to the applicant upon confirmation of such enrolment, but under normal condition, it should be issued immediately.
